Nintendo DSi, the latest handheld offering from Nintendo, is set for release on April 5 in the US. Much more than a portable gaming console, this upgrade of the "instant classic" Nintendo DS features a full multimedia platform, complete with two cameras and built-in media software.

Check these for the official site and press release:

It's only been 4 years though since the release of the DS, and already they're on their third upgrade.
How I wish they had special offers to existing DS owners.

But hey, heard DSi is like the iPhone without the phone

In that case, it's exactly like the iPhone

The DSi also has built-in Wi-Fi, from what I hear. That should make it easier to access online content.

While I will miss my classic, brick-like, sleek-black Nintendo DS, the new features of the DSi will make up for the loss.

Some sources say that DSi will focus more on downloaded content, plus a new SD card slot for saving em

They say the DSi is going to solve hunger and poverty. Plus it holds the secret to eternal life.

But that may just be hype.

My bro got a sleek black DSi last week. Can't wait to get one of my own. Only two colors available so far, the aforementioned black and a blue. Hope more choices come out soon.

Camera and screen are pretty solid, sound quality is good too. More compact than DS-lite, although a little longer.

Wi-Fi ready, built-in plus expandable memory. A few nifty free downloadable apps already available (including internet browser). No GBA slot, though.
